Mumbai Koliwada Boundaries: Panel to Submit Recommendations in 3 Months

A nine-member committee, led by the Konkan divisional commissioner, will submit recommendations on the boundaries of seven Mumbai Koliwadas within three months. Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule stated that protecting the rights of the Koli community, Mumbai's original inhabitants, is a government priority. The committee will examine survey maps and objections, hear objectors' views, and ensure transparent finalisation of boundaries. This aims to protect land rights without hindering development or affecting any Koli family.

कोंकण मंडल आयुक्त की अध्यक्षता वाली नौ सदस्यीय समिति तीन महीने के अंदर सात मुंबई कोलीवाड़ा की सीमाओं पर सिफारिशें सौंपेगी। महाराष्ट्र राजस्व मंत्री चंद्रकांत पाटिल ने कहा कि मुंबई के मूल निवासियों, कोली समुदाय के अधिकारों की रक्षा करना सरकार की प्राथमिकता है। समिति सर्वेक्षण मानचित्रों और आपत्तियों की जांच करेगी, आपत्तिकर्ताओं के विचारों को सुनेगी और सीमाओं के पारदर्शी अंतिम रूप को सुनिश्चित करेगी। इसका उद्देश्य विकास में बाधा डाले बिना या किसी कोली परिवार को प्रभावित किए बिना भूमि अधिकारों की रक्षा करना है।
