Industry bodies in Rajasthan are requesting greater flexibility in building height regulations within RIICO areas. They argue the current 15-metre limit restricts capacity expansion needed to meet growing export demands from new trade agreements. The industry proposes a flexible framework where permissible height considers plot size, road width, and safety infrastructure, rather than a blanket restriction. This move aims to allow vertical expansion for production and storage without acquiring additional land, citing similar provisions in states like Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
