फगवाड़ा में एलपीयू ने अशांति के बाद 10 दिनों के लिए कक्षाएं निलंबित कर दी हैं और परीक्षाएँ रद्द कर दी हैं। यह अशांति एक छात्रा के बलात्कार की अफवाहों से शुरू हुई, जो तोड़फोड़ और आगजनी में बदल गई। पुलिस ने फ्लैग मार्च किया और दावा किया कि स्थिति को नियंत्रित कर लिया गया है, लेकिन तनाव बना हुआ है। संपत्ति को 20 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का नुकसान होने का अनुमान है। छात्रों ने कैंपस छोड़कर घर जाना शुरू कर दिया है, और उम्मीद है कि 10 दिनों के निलंबन के बाद कक्षाएं फिर से शुरू होंगी, बशर्ते स्थिति सामान्य हो जाए।
