Robotic Surgery Surges in India, Delhi NCR Leads Procedures and Installations

Robotic surgery is rapidly expanding across India, with Delhi NCR emerging as the leading hub for both system installations and procedures. Experts noted this trend at the Society of Robotic Surgery India 2026 conference. Delhi NCR hospitals have 39 robotic systems, and procedures there increased nearly five-fold from 2,257 in 2021 to 10,937 in 2025. Nationally, robotic procedures grew from 8,912 in 2021 to 44,857 in 2025. Union Health Minister J P Nadda highlighted India's potential to innovate and lead in healthcare technology.
