Britain, France back UN veto power reform

Britain and France have initiated steps to voluntarily relinquish their veto power in certain serious matters at the UN Security Council. This move aligns with a global initiative, supported by 128 countries, to restrict the veto power of the five permanent members (P-5) in cases of "mass atrocities." Turkish President Erdogan had previously called for the removal of veto powers. The P-5 nations, US, UK, France, China, and Russia, were granted this power after World War II.
