Eknath Shinde Orders Rehab Plan For Kurla-Trombay Slum Dwellers Facing Eviction

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) to prepare a Detailed Project Report for the rehabilitation of slum dwellers along the Kurla-Trombay railway tracks. These residents, who have lived in the area for over 15 years, received eviction notices two months ago without a clear rehabilitation plan. Shinde contacted the Union Railway Minister to intervene and stressed the need for coordination with BMC and other agencies to prevent law-and-order issues. The meeting also discussed redevelopment projects for BMC employees' housing societies.

महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने झुग्गी पुनर्वास प्राधिकरण (SRA) को कुर्ला-तटबंध रेलवे ट्रैक के किनारे रहने वाले झुग्गीवासियों के पुनर्वास के लिए एक विस्तृत परियोजना रिपोर्ट तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया है। इन निवासियों, जो 15 साल से अधिक समय से इस क्षेत्र में रह रहे हैं, को दो महीने पहले बिना किसी स्पष्ट पुनर्वास योजना के बेदखली के नोटिस मिले थे। शिंदे ने केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री से हस्तक्षेप करने के लिए संपर्क किया और कानून-व्यवस्था की समस्या से बचने के लिए बीएमसी और अन्य एजेंसियों के साथ समन्वय की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। बैठक में बीएमसी कर्मचारियों के आवास समितियों के पुनर्विकास परियोजनाओं पर भी चर्चा हुई।
