Since the Nobel Prizes began 125 years ago, women have received only 70 of the 1,034 awards, representing just 7% of laureates. While women have fared better in Literature and Peace categories, their representation in scientific fields remains significantly low. Only 2% of Physics laureates, 3% in Economic Sciences, and 4% in Chemistry have been women. Notably, 57% of the female laureates received their awards since 2001, indicating a recent increase in recognition.
