A 25-year-old man died in Bhubaneswar after a celebratory firing during a late-night party with friends to mark the purchase of an illegal firearm. Eight friends of the deceased, Tapu Nayak, who were employed at a private construction company, have been arrested. Police have booked all accused for murder, despite initial indications that the firing might have been accidental. Nayak was rushed to a hospital after being shot, but his condition worsened, leading to his death. Preliminary investigations suggest no clear motive to target Nayak.
