Kochi District Panel Seeks Fair Tree Auction Rates and Road Repairs

A district meeting in Kochi has demanded a rationalisation of tree auction rates in government institutions, noting that high prices are hindering sales, even for scrap trees. Legislators also called for the immediate completion of the Chitrappuzha-Ponjassery road and repairs for several other pothole-ridden roads, which pose a significant risk to motorists. Additionally, a request was made to install signal lights at Pattimattom Junction to alleviate traffic congestion. The meeting was presided over by the Additional District Magistrate and attended by representatives of the Chief Minister and Fisheries Minister.

कोच्चि में एक जिला बैठक में सरकारी संस्थानों में पेड़ों की नीलामी की दरों को तर्कसंगत बनाने की मांग की गई है। इसमें कहा गया है कि ऊंची कीमतें कबाड़ पेड़ों की बिक्री में भी बाधा डाल रही हैं। विधायकों ने चित्रापुझा-पोंजस्सेरी सड़क को तुरंत पूरा करने और कई अन्य गड्ढों से भरी सड़कों की मरम्मत की भी मांग की, जो वाहन चालकों के लिए बड़ा खतरा पैदा करती हैं। इसके अलावा, यातायात जाम को कम करने के लिए पत्तिमाट्टोम जंक्शन पर सिग्नल लाइट लगाने का अनुरोध किया गया। बैठक की अध्यक्षता अतिरिक्त जिला मजिस्ट्रेट ने की और इसमें मुख्यमंत्री और मत्स्य पालन मंत्री के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया।
