Singer Amrit Prabha Mahanta Granted Bail in Zubeen Garg Death Case

The Gauhati High Court has granted bail to singer Amrit Prabha Mahanta, who is an accused in the death case of Zubeen Garg. Justice Pranjal Das approved the bail with a bond of ₹50,000 and two sureties of the same amount. Mahanta is currently lodged at Haflong jail along with another accused. Zubeen Garg, a celebrated singer-songwriter, died under mysterious circumstances in Singapore on September 19 last year. A Special Investigation Team had filed a chargesheet naming seven accused, with four facing murder charges.

गौहाटी हाई कोर्ट ने गायिका अमृत प्रभा महंत को ज़ुबिन गर्ग की मौत के मामले में ज़मानत दे दी है। जस्टिस प्रांजल दास ने ₹50,000 के बांड और इतनी ही राशि के दो ज़मानतदारों पर ज़मानत मंज़ूर की। महंत फिलहाल एक अन्य आरोपी के साथ हाफलॉन्ग जेल में बंद हैं। ज़ुबिन गर्ग, जो एक मशहूर गायक-गीतकार थे, पिछले साल 19 सितंबर को सिंगापुर में रहस्यमय परिस्थितियों में मर गए थे। एक स्पेशल इन्वेस्टिगेशन टीम ने सात आरोपियों के नाम से चार्जशीट दाखिल की थी, जिनमें से चार पर हत्या का आरोप है।
