Deputy chief minister Vijay Sharma and culture minister Rajesh Agrawal supported this stance, emphasizing Garba as a devotional act, not mere entertainment. They stated that those without faith should not participate and organizers must maintain the sanctity of the events.

छत्तीसगढ़ वक्फ बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष सलीम राज ने मुस्लिम युवाओं से नवरात्रि के दौरान गरबा कार्यक्रमों में भाग न लेने की अपील की है, अगर उन्हें अनुष्ठान में विश्वास नहीं है। उपमुख्यमंत्री विजय शर्मा और संस्कृति मंत्री राजेश अग्रवाल ने इस रुख का समर्थन किया, इस बात पर जोर देते हुए कि गरबा केवल मनोरंजन नहीं बल्कि भक्ति का कार्य है। उन्होंने कहा कि जिन लोगों को विश्वास नहीं है, उन्हें भाग नहीं लेना चाहिए और आयोजकों को कार्यक्रमों की पवित्रता बनाए रखनी चाहिए।
