The Kerala government is launching a comprehensive five-year campaign, 'Nirmala Puthuyuga Suchitwa Keralam,' to address all waste-related issues across the state. The initiative, coordinated by the Suchitwa Mission, aims to establish waste treatment facilities for 100% of households by 2031. Key goals include ensuring 100% e-waste collection, setting up an e-waste treatment plant, and making 500 local bodies self-sufficient in waste management by 2030. The campaign will also involve policy development for solid waste, plastic recycling, and scrap management.
