A 30-year-old man has undergone a second liver transplant, with his mother donating her organ. This comes nearly two decades after his father donated a portion of his liver for his first transplant when he was 11. Specialists note he is among a few in India to receive a second liver transplant after living a long life with the first. The surgery took place at Jaslok Hospital for autoimmune cirrhosis, with doctors stating his graft survived for 19 years before late rejection.

30 वर्षीय व्यक्ति का दूसरा लिवर ट्रांसप्लांट हुआ है, जिसमें उसकी माँ ने अपना अंग दान किया। यह उसके पहले ट्रांसप्लांट के लगभग दो दशक बाद हुआ है, जब उसके पिता ने 11 साल की उम्र में लिवर का एक हिस्सा दान किया था। विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि वह भारत में कुछ ऐसे लोगों में से है जिन्हें पहले लिवर ट्रांसप्लांट के बाद लंबा जीवन जीने के बाद दूसरा लिवर ट्रांसप्लांट मिला है। यह सर्जरी जसलोक हॉस्पिटल में ऑटोइम्यून सिरोसिस के लिए हुई थी, और डॉक्टरों ने बताया कि उसका ग्राफ्ट 19 साल तक जीवित रहा और बाद में रिजेक्ट हो गया।
