Ambuja Cements Q2 Net Profit Plunges 90% Amidst Margin Pressure
Business Standard · stocks
Ambuja Cements reported a 90 per cent year-on-year drop in consolidated net profit to ₹236 crore for the September quarter. This decline was driven by increased fuel and logistics expenses, which squeezed operating margins. Revenue from operations saw a marginal 0.2 per cent rise to ₹9,197 crore, while cement sales volume decreased slightly. The company attributed the profit pressure to higher costs of petcoke, coal, and diesel, alongside seasonal weakness and geopolitical uncertainty.
