Dhaka Hospitals Overwhelmed By Dengue Surge

Dhaka hospitals are facing severe pressure due to a sharp rise in dengue cases, with over 747 new patients admitted nationwide in 24 hours. Some facilities are treating patients on floors and verandas as wards overflow, with one hospital exceeding its bed capacity by over 300%. Doctors report that overcrowding hinders patient monitoring and emergency care. Since January 1, Bangladesh has recorded 59,147 hospitalisations and 176 deaths from dengue.

ढाका के अस्पतालों में डेंगू के मरीजों की संख्या अचानक बढ़ने से भारी दबाव है। पिछले 24 घंटों में पूरे देश में 747 से ज़्यादा नए मरीज़ भर्ती हुए हैं। कुछ अस्पतालों में तो मरीज़ों को फर्श और बरामदे में भी लिटाना पड़ रहा है, क्योंकि वार्डों में जगह नहीं है। एक अस्पताल तो अपनी क्षमता से 300% ज़्यादा मरीज़ों का इलाज कर रहा है।
