Several Delhi Metro stations in central Delhi, including Janpath and Rajiv Chowk, reopened on Sunday following unprecedented curbs imposed ahead of protests. While some shops in Connaught Place also opened, customer footfall remained notably thin. Police continued to detain protesters and journalists, despite a Supreme Court order for the peaceful demonstrators' release. The top court had directed authorities to ensure normal metro functioning and uninterrupted internet services, subject to law and order. Streets around the Jantar Mantar protest site remained sealed, with security forces present.
