Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized that dissent and differing opinions must be respected in a democracy, stating that collective efforts and public service are more crucial than political differences or the pursuit of power for national progress. Addressing a Janpratinidhi Sammelan in Chandigarh, he highlighted that both agreement and disagreement are strengths of democratic systems. Birla noted Haryana's significant development over 60 years, attributing its progress to the Constitution, which he described as the soul of India.

लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिरला ने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि लोकतंत्र में असहमति और अलग विचारों का सम्मान किया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि देश की प्रगति के लिए राजनीतिक मतभेदों या सत्ता की चाहत से ज़्यादा सामूहिक प्रयास और जनसेवा ज़रूरी है। चंडीगढ़ में एक जनप्रतिधि सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि सहमति और असहमति दोनों लोकतांत्रिक प्रणालियों की ताकत हैं। बिरला ने कहा कि हरियाणा ने 60 सालों में काफ़ी तरक्की की है और इसका श्रेय संविधान को दिया, जिसे उन्होंने भारत की आत्मा बताया।
