Hindustan Times · science

Three African wild dog brothers have set a new record for mammal dispersal, traveling 4,126 kilometers across Zambia in eight months. This journey far surpasses the longest documented African migration of 650 kilometers. The brothers, originating from Kafue National Park, embarked on their solo journeys to find mates and new territories. Despite the dangers, including snares and predators, their dispersal offers hope for connecting isolated wild dog populations, crucial for the survival of this endangered species.
