Dalit Groups Protest Kumaraswamy's Remarks Against Priyank Kharge in Mandya

Congress workers and members of Dalit and progressive organizations staged a protest in Mandya on Saturday against Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy for his alleged personal attack on Home Minister Priyank Kharge. The protesters gathered at Sanjay Circle, blocking the old Bengaluru–Mysuru highway and forming a human chain. They held posters of Kumaraswamy and raised slogans against him. Congress leader Kumar Koppa stated that such remarks are unbecoming of a Union Minister. The protestors warned of intensified agitation across the state if criticism against the Dalit Home Minister continued.

कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ताओं और दलित व प्रगतिशील संगठनों के सदस्यों ने शनिवार को मंड्या में केंद्रीय मंत्री एच.डी. कुमारस्वामी के खिलाफ उनके कथित व्यक्तिगत हमले के विरोध में प्रदर्शन किया। प्रदर्शनकारी संजय सर्कल पर इकट्ठा हुए, पुरानी बेंगलुरु-मैसूरु राजमार्ग को अवरुद्ध किया और मानव श्रृंखला बनाई। उन्होंने कुमारस्वामी के पोस्टर लहराए और उनके खिलाफ नारे लगाए। कांग्रेस नेता कुमार कोप्पा ने कहा कि ऐसे बयान एक केंद्रीय मंत्री के लिए अशोभनीय हैं। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने चेतावनी दी कि अगर दलित गृह मंत्री के खिलाफ आलोचना जारी रही तो पूरे राज्य में आंदोलन तेज किया जाएगा।
