Karnataka Cabinet to Decide on Bangalore Turf Club Land for High Court This Month

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced that the State Cabinet will decide this month on allocating land for a new High Court building. The new structure is planned for the Race Course premises and will require 12-15 acres. This decision follows requests from the High Court Chief Justice for an alternate building, as the current one is situated next to the legislature. The government had previously informed the High Court of its intention to allocate BTC land for this purpose.

कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री डी. के. शिवकुमार ने घोषणा की है कि राज्य कैबिनेट इस महीने एक नई हाई कोर्ट बिल्डिंग के लिए ज़मीन आवंटित करने का फैसला करेगी। नई इमारत रेस कोर्स परिसर में बनाने की योजना है और इसके लिए 12-15 एकड़ ज़मीन की ज़रूरत होगी। यह फैसला हाई कोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश द्वारा एक वैकल्पिक इमारत के अनुरोध के बाद आया है, क्योंकि वर्तमान इमारत विधानमंडल के बगल में स्थित है। सरकार ने पहले ही हाई कोर्ट को बीटीसी की ज़मीन इस उद्देश्य के लिए आवंटित करने के अपने इरादे के बारे में सूचित कर दिया था।
