Mirabai Chanu Wins Asian Games Silver Medal

North Korean weightlifter Ri Song Gum shattered three world records to win gold in the women's 49kg event at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. India's Mirabai Chanu secured the silver medal with a total lift of 198kg, finally achieving an elusive Asian Games medal. This silver also marks India's first weightlifting medal at the games in 28 years, since Karnam Malleswari's silver in 1998. Indonesia's Luluk Diana Tri Wijayana claimed the bronze.

एशियाई खेलों में नागोया, जापान में, उत्तर कोरिया की भारोत्तोलक री सोंग गम ने महिलाओं की 49 किग्रा स्पर्धा में तीन विश्व रिकॉर्ड तोड़कर स्वर्ण पदक जीता। भारत की मीराबाई चानू ने 198 किग्रा के कुल भार के साथ रजत पदक हासिल किया, जिससे उन्हें आखिरकार एशियाई खेलों का पदक मिल गया। यह रजत भारत का 28 साल में पहला भारोत्तोलन पदक भी है।
