South African police have discovered the body of a tenth woman east of Johannesburg, bringing the total number of female bodies found near the city since mid-July to ten. The latest victim was found in Thembisa, Ekurhuleni, and appeared to have been stoned to death. This discovery adds to growing concerns over violence against women in a country with one of the highest femicide rates globally. Authorities are investigating whether the killings are connected, though some appear to be isolated incidents.
