Himachal HC Halts Shimla Construction Over Illegal Buildings and Tree Felling

The Himachal Pradesh high court has ordered an immediate halt to construction in Shimla's Chakkar area due to alleged illegal multi-storey buildings and extensive tree felling. A division bench expressed concern that police may have shielded the accused by omitting their names from an FIR, despite the court having previously identified them. A report documented violations including a six-level building obstructing views and construction exceeding approved plans. The court has directed the police to include the accused's names in the FIR and expedite the investigation.

हिमाचल प्रदेश हाई कोर्ट ने शिमला के चक्कर इलाके में कथित अवैध बहुमंजिला इमारतों और बड़े पैमाने पर पेड़ काटने के कारण निर्माण कार्य पर तत्काल रोक लगाने का आदेश दिया है। एक खंडपीठ ने चिंता व्यक्त की कि पुलिस ने अदालत द्वारा पहले पहचाने जाने के बावजूद आरोपियों के नाम एफआईआर से हटाकर उनका बचाव किया हो सकता है। एक रिपोर्ट में छह मंजिला इमारत द्वारा दृश्यों को बाधित करने और स्वीकृत योजनाओं से अधिक निर्माण सहित उल्लंघनों का दस्तावेजीकरण किया गया था। अदालत ने पुलिस को एफआईआर में आरोपियों के नाम शामिल करने और जांच में तेजी लाने का निर्देश दिया है।
