Hasina Slams PM Tarique Rahman For Skipping BRICS Summit

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has criticized Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's decision to skip the BRICS Summit in New Delhi, calling it immature and against Bangladesh's national interests. She questioned why Rahman's presence in India should be hindered by her own, drawing a parallel to his father, former President Ziaur Rahman, visiting Delhi while she was in exile there. Hasina argued that such absences cause Bangladesh to miss economic cooperation opportunities.

बांग्लादेश की पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना ने प्रधानमंत्री तारिक रहमान के नई दिल्ली में ब्रिक्स शिखर सम्मेलन में शामिल न होने के फैसले की आलोचना की है। उन्होंने इसे अपरिपक्व और बांग्लादेश के राष्ट्रीय हितों के खिलाफ बताया। उन्होंने सवाल उठाया कि उनके (हसीना के) भारत में होने से रहमान की भारत में उपस्थिति क्यों बाधित होनी चाहिए, और इसकी तुलना उनके पिता, पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जियाउर रहमान, के दिल्ली दौरे से की जब वह (हसीना) निर्वासन में थीं। हसीना ने तर्क दिया कि ऐसे अनुपस्थिति से बांग्लादेश को आर्थिक सहयोग के अवसर गंवाने पड़ते हैं।
