Telangana CM Seeks Maharashtra's Nod For 152m Barrage

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prepare for discussions with Maharashtra regarding the construction of the Tummidihatti Barrage across the Pranahitha river. The proposed barrage has a full reservoir level of 152 metres, which Telangana aims to convince Maharashtra to approve. Engineers estimate that a 152-metre FRL would cause submergence of 2,300 acres in Maharashtra, while a lower 150-metre FRL would affect less than 1,000 acres. The project is intended to irrigate 2 lakh acres in the backward Adilabad district.

तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री ए. रेवंत रेड्डी ने अधिकारियों को प्रणहिता नदी पर तुममिडीहट्टी बैराज के निर्माण को लेकर महाराष्ट्र के साथ चर्चा की तैयारी करने का निर्देश दिया है। प्रस्तावित बैराज का फुल रिजर्वायर लेवल (FRL) 152 मीटर है, जिसे तेलंगाना महाराष्ट्र से मंजूर कराने का लक्ष्य रखता है। इंजीनियरों का अनुमान है कि 152 मीटर FRL से महाराष्ट्र में 2,300 एकड़ भूमि डूब जाएगी, जबकि 150 मीटर FRL से 1,000 एकड़ से कम प्रभावित होगी। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य पिछड़े आदिलाबाद जिले में 2 लाख एकड़ भूमि की सिंचाई करना है।
