The Supreme Court questioned the Bar Council of India's authority to regulate legal education, stating it is not an expert body for setting educational standards. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बार काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया (BCI) से पूछा कि कानूनी शिक्षा को नियंत्रित करने का अधिकार उन्हें किसने दिया। कोर्ट ने कहा कि BCI शिक्षा के मानक तय करने वाली कोई विशेषज्ञ संस्था नहीं है। कोर्ट का मानना है कि BCI कानून स्कूलों के लिए सामान्य दिशानिर्देश तो बना सकती है, लेकिन उन पर सीधा नियंत्रण नहीं रख सकती। यह टिप्पणी BCI के अध्यक्ष मनन कुमार मिश्रा के कुछ फैसलों पर सवाल उठने के बाद आई है।
