Haryana FDA Inspects Gurugram Firm, Flags Nine Food Products for Misbranding

FDA inspected a Gurugram-based food brand on Thursday, flagging nine food products for suspected misbranding. The inspection targeted products making health claims for nerve and joint pain, constipation, lung function, liver detoxification, blood sugar, and skin pigmentation. The company failed to provide scientific evidence for its claims, leading the FDA to issue a show-cause notice. Nine food and nine cosmetic samples were collected for testing, with further action pending the company's response and investigation findings under relevant acts.

एफडीए ने गुरुवार को गुरुग्राम स्थित एक फूड ब्रांड का निरीक्षण किया और संदिग्ध मिसब्रांडिंग के लिए नौ खाद्य उत्पादों को चिह्नित किया। निरीक्षण का लक्ष्य तंत्रिका और जोड़ों के दर्द, कब्ज, फेफड़ों के कार्य, लिवर डिटॉक्सिफिकेशन, ब्लड शुगर और त्वचा के रंगत के लिए स्वास्थ्य संबंधी दावे करने वाले उत्पादों पर था। कंपनी अपने दावों के लिए वैज्ञानिक प्रमाण प्रदान करने में विफल रही, जिसके कारण एफडीए ने कारण बताओ नोटिस जारी किया। परीक्षण के लिए नौ खाद्य और नौ कॉस्मेटिक नमूने एकत्र किए गए, जिसमें कंपनी की प्रतिक्रिया और प्रासंगिक अधिनियमों के तहत जांच के निष्कर्षों के लंबित रहने पर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
