Farmers and traders expressed concerns that private contractors and brick kiln units are extracting large quantities of silt round-the-clock, potentially affecting the tank's storage capacity. The Pavoor tank, spread over 25 acres, is crucial for irrigating about 250 acres of agricultural land and supplying water for domestic consumption.
