Supreme Court to try listing Mamata's plea

The Supreme Court has agreed to attempt listing a petition filed by former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee this week. The plea challenges the Election Commission's decision to freeze the Trinamool Congress party symbol. Senior advocate Kapil Sibal argued the interim order was unwarranted. The Election Commission had previously allotted new names and symbols to two factions of the Trinamool Congress following a split.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ममता की याचिका सूचीबद्ध करने का प्रयास करेगा

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने ममता बनर्जी की याचिका पर इस हफ़्ते सुनवाई करने की सहमति दे दी है। यह याचिका चुनाव आयोग के तृणमूल कांग्रेस का चुनाव चिन्ह सील करने के फ़ैसले को चुनौती देती है। कपिल सिब्बल ने कहा कि यह अंतरिम आदेश ज़रूरी नहीं था। चुनाव आयोग ने तृणमूल कांग्रेस में फूट के बाद दो गुटों को नए नाम और चिन्ह आवंटित किए थे।
