27 Leprosy Patients Receive Reconstructive Surgery and Rehabilitation at Wardha Camp

A medical camp at Wardha district hospital provided reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation to 27 leprosy patients. Led by Professor Emeritus Dr. Anil Golhar, the camp included nerve decompression and minor surgeries to improve mobility and prevent further nerve damage. Patients needing prosthetic limbs will receive a Jaipur Foot free of cost, while others received therapeutic footwear and day-care treatment plans. Dr. Golhar emphasized addressing the stigma surrounding leprosy, noting that misconceptions about contagiousness and disability persist despite the disease being treatable.
