A 30-foot effigy of a cockroach will be burnt alongside traditional figures like Ravan at a Ramlila event in Delhi's Pitampura. Organisers from the Shree Keshav Ram Leela Committee stated the effigy symbolises filth and dirt, aiming to promote cleanliness under the 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Swachh Delhi' campaigns. Committee president Ashok Goel clarified the effigy is not politically motivated but intended to convey the victory of good over evil while highlighting hygiene.

दिल्ली के पीतमपुरा में एक रामलीला कार्यक्रम में रावण जैसे पारंपरिक पात्रों के साथ 30 फुट के कॉकरोच के पुतले को जलाया जाएगा। श्री केशव राम लीला समिति के आयोजकों ने कहा कि यह पुतला गंदगी और मैल का प्रतीक है, जिसका उद्देश्य 'स्वच्छ भारत' और 'स्वच्छ दिल्ली' अभियानों के तहत स्वच्छता को बढ़ावा देना है। समिति के अध्यक्ष अशोक गोयल ने स्पष्ट किया कि यह पुतला राजनीतिक रूप से प्रेरित नहीं है, बल्कि इसका उद्देश्य बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत को दर्शाना और स्वच्छता पर प्रकाश डालना है।
