A Delhi court has acquitted five men accused of vandalizing and setting fire to a mosque in Karawal Nagar during the 2020 riots. The prosecution failed to establish their involvement due to contradictions in eyewitness accounts and issues with CCTV footage. Additional Sessions Judge Parveen Singh noted inconsistencies between police witnesses and a resident living opposite the mosque. The court also found the CCTV footage inadmissible due to certificate deficiencies, extending the benefit of doubt to the accused.

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने 2020 के दंगों के दौरान करावावल नगर में एक मस्जिद में तोड़फोड़ करने और आग लगाने के आरोपी पांच लोगों को बरी कर दिया है। अभियोजन पक्ष गवाहों के बयानों में विरोधाभास और CCTV फुटेज की समस्याओं के कारण उनकी संलिप्तता स्थापित करने में विफल रहा। अतिरिक्त सत्र न्यायाधीश परवीन सिंह ने पुलिस गवाहों और मस्जिद के सामने रहने वाले एक निवासी के बीच विसंगतियों को नोट किया। अदालत ने प्रमाण पत्र की कमियों के कारण CCTV फुटेज को भी अस्वीकार्य पाया, जिससे आरोपियों को संदेह का लाभ मिला।
