Bengal Unveils New Industrial Policy, Focuses on Land Acquisition

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has launched a new industrial policy prioritizing land acquisition for industries, employment generation, and incentives for sectors like semiconductors and EVs. The state is also in discussions with Ashok Leyland for a potential investment in Singur. Adhikari assured an "extortion- and fear-free" environment for investors, stating the government will procure land without forced acquisition or violence. The policy aims to create a land bank and explore models where farmers benefit from developed land and employment opportunities.

पश्चिम बंगाल के मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने उद्योगों के लिए भूमि अधिग्रहण, रोजगार सृजन और सेमीकंडक्टर और ईवी जैसे क्षेत्रों के लिए प्रोत्साहन को प्राथमिकता देते हुए एक नई औद्योगिक नीति शुरू की है। राज्य सिंगूर में अशोक लीलैंड के साथ संभावित निवेश पर भी चर्चा कर रहा है। अधिकारी ने निवेशकों के लिए "जबरन वसूली और भय-मुक्त" माहौल का आश्वासन दिया, यह कहते हुए कि सरकार जबरन अधिग्रहण या हिंसा के बिना भूमि का अधिग्रहण करेगी। नीति का उद्देश्य एक भूमि बैंक बनाना और ऐसे मॉडल तलाशना है जहां किसानों को विकसित भूमि और रोजगार के अवसरों से लाभ मिले।
