A major bridge in Kyiv, the Pivnichnyi (Northern) Bridge, was struck by Russian drones for the second consecutive day on Sunday. The attack, which occurred during a surprise visit by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, also damaged a heating main, leading to a temporary loss of hot water in a district. Major bridges have been targeted in Kyiv over the past four days as Russia escalates attacks on critical infrastructure. Merz reaffirmed Germany's support for Ukraine and pledged further assistance, stating that Germany's security depends on the war's outcome.
