New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced a comprehensive citywide strategy to address rising antisemitism, allocating significant funding for hate crime prevention and security. The plan includes $6.4 million for a grant program and $1 million for physical security at Jewish institutions. An interagency working group will also be revived to help assess threats. This initiative comes as antisemitic hate crimes in the city have increased by 8% this year, with anti-Jewish incidents comprising over half of all recorded hate incidents.
