All beaches and coastal areas in Umm Al Quwain have been temporarily closed by the United Arab Emirates following an oil spill from a tanker. The country's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment confirmed the closure on Friday after its monitoring system detected the spill. Residents in nearby Sharjah and Ajman also reported unpleasant odours, though the ministry stated these posed no health risks. The beaches will reopen once technical teams complete their assessments and ensure the safety of the marine environment.

Ministry of Climate Change and Environment
