Hindustan Times · health

Experts at King George’s Medical University's clubfoot programme emphasized that early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for children born with clubfoot to lead normal lives. Approximately 30,000 children in India, including 6,000 in Uttar Pradesh, are born with the condition annually. Treatment should commence within weeks of birth, involving serial plaster casts and potentially surgery, followed by bracing for at least five years. Experts also addressed myths surrounding clubfoot and highlighted the importance of parental counselling and long-term follow-up to manage the condition effectively.
