He stated that vital records appear to be missing, raising questions about the status of investigations into past unresolved cases and accountability for political violence. Saha made these remarks while criticising the opposition, accusing them of seeking public sympathy by highlighting current law-and-order issues while ignoring past incidents.

त्रिपुरा के मुख्यमंत्री माणिक साहा ने पिछली लेफ्ट फ्रंट सरकार के कार्यकाल में दर्ज हत्या के मामलों से संबंधित महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेजों के कथित तौर पर गायब होने पर चिंता जताई है। उन्होंने कहा कि अहम रिकॉर्ड गायब लग रहे हैं, जिससे पिछले अनसुलझे मामलों की जांच की स्थिति और राजनीतिक हिंसा के लिए जवाबदेही पर सवाल उठ रहे हैं। साहा ने ये टिप्पणियां विपक्ष की आलोचना करते हुए कीं, उन पर पिछले घटनाओं को नजरअंदाज करते हुए वर्तमान कानून-व्यवस्था के मुद्दों को उजागर करके जनता से सहानुभूति हासिल करने का आरोप लगाया।
