CISF Reorganises Structure for Enhanced Security of Strategic Sectors

Hindustan Times · india

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has undertaken a major reorganisation of its field formations, effective November 1, to enhance security for India's strategic sectors. This includes creating two new sectors to oversee the security of the nation's 250 sea ports. The reorganisation aims to align the force's structure with the specific security needs of energy, economic, and government sectors. Previously, CISF's field formations were based on territorial jurisdiction, leading to mixed security deployments. This functional reorganisation is expected to improve operational oversight, promote sector-specific expertise, and strengthen coordination.
