The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has framed a contempt charge against UP PWD principal secretary Ajay Chauhan. This action stems from his alleged failure to comply with a four-year-old court order directing the refixation of pay and payment of salary arrears for government employees. The court noted that the July 2022 order, which was upheld by the Supreme Court, remained unimplemented. Chauhan, along with four other principal secretaries, has been given 15 days to respond to the charges and must appear in court.
