Homeowner Finds Remains, Ex-Husband Arrested Years Later

A California homeowner discovered human remains in his crawl space in October 2020. An autopsy revealed the victim died by homicide, but identification efforts failed for years. In 2023, a cold case team identified the remains as Jill Maiorca, a 29-year-old woman missing since 2007. Evidence indicated she was murdered in 2006. Her ex-husband, Jeff Maiorca, was arrested in September 2026 in connection with her death. The remains had been hidden without the homeowner's knowledge.
