A stampede at a Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata's Chorbagan area has resulted in 19 deaths and 25 injuries. Eyewitnesses attribute the tragedy to poor crowd management and sudden rainfall, which caused people to rush into the pandal for shelter. This influx, combined with inadequate crowd control measures and a lack of clear announcements, led to people falling over each other. Police have arrested seven individuals, including organizers, and are investigating the incident, with authorities also considering the possibility of a conspiracy.
