मद्रास हाईकोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार से अनुसूचित जाति (SC) की बस्तियों में जर्जर घरों, सड़कों और बुनियादी सुविधाओं की पहचान और मरम्मत से जुड़ी एक याचिका पर जवाब मांगा है। याचिका में असुरक्षित आवास, खराब सड़क की स्थिति और कब्रिस्तान, पीने के पानी और स्वच्छता जैसी आवश्यक सेवाओं तक अपर्याप्त पहुंच जैसे मुद्दों को उजागर किया गया है। इसमें कहा गया है कि संविधान कमजोर वर्गों के लिए विशेष देखभाल का आदेश देता है, और पहचान के बावजूद मौजूदा कमियां निवासियों को प्रभावित कर रही हैं।
