Supreme Court Gives Election Commission Four Months

The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission of India to resolve the dispute over the Trinamool Congress's name and election symbol within four months. The apex court is hearing a plea challenging the ECI's decision to freeze the party's name and 'Flowers & Grass' symbol due to factional disputes. Both factions have been asked to file their affidavits and counter-affidavits within four weeks. The ECI will then have three months to make a final decision on the matter.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग को तृणमूल कांग्रेस के नाम और चुनाव चिन्ह को लेकर विवाद चार महीने में सुलझाने का निर्देश दिया है। यह शीर्ष अदालत गुटों के झगड़े के कारण पार्टी का नाम और 'फूल और घास' चिन्ह फ्रीज करने के ECI के फैसले को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका पर सुनवाई कर रही है। दोनों गुटों को चार हफ्तों के भीतर अपने हलफनामे और जवाबी हलफनामे दाखिल करने के लिए कहा गया है। इसके बाद ECI के पास इस मामले पर अंतिम निर्णय लेने के लिए तीन महीने होंगे।
