TOI Astrology · spirituality

Karwa Chauth in 2026 will be observed on October 28 in the USA and Canada, a day earlier than in India due to time zone differences. NRI families need to plan the fast around workdays and consider the midweek timing. Moonrise times vary across major US cities, with New York around 7:29 PM and Los Angeles at 7:58 PM on October 28. The festival involves pre-dawn meals, a day-long fast, evening puja, and breaking the fast after moonrise, often with husbands offering the first sip of water.
