The Union Cabinet has approved two schemes worth Rs 1.9 lakh crore to boost semiconductor fabrication and mobile phone production in India. These initiatives, running for five years from 2026-27, aim to increase domestic value addition and reduce import dependence. कैबिनेट ने भारत में सेमीकंडक्टर और मोबाइल फोन उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 1.9 लाख करोड़ रुपये की दो योजनाओं को मंजूरी दे दी है। ये योजनाएं 2026-27 से पांच साल तक चलेंगी। इनका मकसद घरेलू उत्पादन बढ़ाना और आयात पर निर्भरता कम करना है। यह भारत के लिए 2030-31 तक 500 अरब डॉलर के इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स निर्माण उद्योग के लक्ष्य को पाने में महत्वपूर्ण है, जिससे आत्मनिर्भरता और आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
