Telangana CM Orders El Nino Action Plan To Tackle Water, Power Crisis

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prepare an action plan to address the looming crisis posed by El Nino until June next year. The plan will focus on ensuring the state's drinking water, irrigation, agricultural, and electricity needs. Reddy emphasized judicious electricity consumption and called for temporary deferral of power-dependent works. He also stressed preventing water wastage and urged public awareness campaigns on El Nino's impact. The state recorded 17% below-normal rainfall, leading to drought-like conditions in 235 mandals.

तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री ए रेवंत रेड्डी ने अधिकारियों को अगले साल जून तक एल नीनो से उत्पन्न होने वाले संकट से निपटने के लिए एक एक्शन प्लान तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया है। इस प्लान में राज्य की पीने के पानी, सिंचाई, कृषि और बिजली की जरूरतों को पूरा करने पर ध्यान दिया जाएगा। रेड्डी ने बिजली की समझदारी से खपत पर जोर दिया और बिजली पर निर्भर कामों को अस्थायी रूप से टालने को कहा। उन्होंने पानी की बर्बादी रोकने पर भी जोर दिया और एल नीनो के प्रभाव पर जन जागरूकता अभियान चलाने का आग्रह किया। राज्य में सामान्य से 17% कम बारिश दर्ज की गई है, जिससे 235 मंडलों में सूखे जैसी स्थिति पैदा हो गई है।
