सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने 20 बागी TMC सांसदों की अयोग्यता याचिकाओं पर लोकसभा स्पीकर द्वारा तीन महीने की देरी पर चिंता जताई। अभिषेक बनर्जी की याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए बेंच ने कहा कि ऐसी देरी दूसरे मामलों और देश के लोकतंत्र पर असर डाल सकती है। स्पीकर के दफ्तर ने सांसदों को जवाब देने के लिए पहले 14 दिन दिए थे, जिसे बाद में बढ़ाया गया। सॉलिसिटर जनरल ने न्यायिक समय-सीमा का विरोध किया।
