Bihar Assembly Speaker Questioned Over BJP MLA's Continued Membership

CPI(ML)L general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya has questioned Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar regarding the delayed decision on BJP MLA Raju Singh's membership. Singh was convicted on July 4, 2026, for a celebratory firing incident that caused a woman's death and sentenced to four years imprisonment. Bhattacharya contrasted this with the swift termination of CPI(ML)L MLA Manoj Manzil's membership after his murder conviction. He highlighted that three months have passed since Singh's conviction, yet no action has been taken, questioning the application of different standards within the Assembly.

सीपीआई(एमएल)एल के महासचिव दीपांकर भट्टाचार्य ने बिहार विधानसभा के अध्यक्ष प्रेम कुमार से बीजेपी विधायक राजू सिंह की सदस्यता पर हो रही देरी को लेकर सवाल उठाया है। राजू सिंह को 4 जुलाई 2026 को एक महिला की मौत का कारण बने जश्न के दौरान गोली चलाने के मामले में दोषी ठहराया गया था और चार साल की जेल की सजा सुनाई गई थी। भट्टाचार्य ने सीपीआई(एमएल)एल के विधायक मनोज मांझी की हत्या के मामले में दोषी ठहराए जाने के बाद उनकी सदस्यता को तुरंत समाप्त किए जाने से इसकी तुलना की।
