Maharashtra UCC Bill To Be Tabled In Assembly

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the state government intends to table its Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Bill during the upcoming winter session of the assembly in Nagpur. This move will proceed once the seven-member committee, headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Ranjana Desai, submits its report. The committee, formed in July with a six-month deadline, is currently working on the framework for the proposed code.

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा है कि राज्य सरकार नागपुर में अगले शीतकालीन सत्र में यूनिफॉर्म सिविल कोड (UCC) बिल पेश करने की तैयारी में है। यह कदम तब उठाया जाएगा जब रिटायर्ड सुप्रीम कोर्ट जज जस्टिस रंजन देसाई की अध्यक्षता वाली सात सदस्यीय समिति अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंप देगी। जुलाई में बनी इस समिति को छह महीने का समय दिया गया था और यह अभी प्रस्तावित कोड के ढांचे पर काम कर रही है।
